What to do and not to do at a tattoo shop

1. Does a tattoo hurt?  For some it will hurt more then others. Location matters, the shoulder, arms, legs and back hurt the lest. Pick a spot then think of that type of tattoo also clean the area and arrive ready with cash in hand.

2.  Can you fix older tattoos?  We have repaired some really bad art most of them as home messes and some so called professional ones. Older or newer the answer is this.
First you will be asked where did you get it?
If you say from a local studio, The Beehive will suggest you go back to them.
Shop owners need to know how their employee's are doing as well as the artist them self.
The Beehive will not offer to fix local work done by local artist unless you make it clear you will not return to them. The fact is any good artist can take a mess and make it look better so you may as well save your money and let the person responsible fix it, unless they honestly have no talent and you know it.
Although rare some shop owners will repair the art of their help for a small fee or even free so try them first.

3.  Can I video my friend while you work on them?
You mean like a minute Video for your facebook fans?
Maybe just ask the artist if they mind.

4. Can I take pictures of my friend while you work?
Cell phones/camera's should stay in the car.
If you must have it with you then keep it in your purse or pocket.
Never stand in front of the art racks with a camera or cell phone,
Everyone shop pays for their art, even the internet art cost money.
A shops art is their property it also makes the shop what they are.

5.  Can I bring food in with me?
The Health Department says no to this.
Eat before you get a tattoo it will help you feel better.

6. Can I be drunk or high?
Sure but not at a studio, you will bleed a like a stuck pig or jump around so please be yourself and don't fear the pain... most tattoos don't hurt really bad unless your dealing with a angry heavy handed punk.

7.  Dose the Beehive offer any type of pain relief? Yes they do, just ask.

8. Can I bring my kids?
Children do not belong in tattoo parlors.
You need to relax not baby sit and for sure your artist need to concentrate so no distractions.
If you have a friend with you this will help but it's better to leave the friend at home with them and let us hold your hand.

9. Can my friend be in the room with me?
You have a friend in the room with you, your artist.
They are experts at reaction and pain control and they alone can take it easy on you.
A friend will not only distract you but your artist isn't going to be excited to share the room, experience, and tattoo technique with your friend who isn't paying to be in the chair let a lone to learn to tattoo from him or her.

Only if it is your first tattoo should you even consider asking to let someone be in the room with you and even then once your feeling ok let your friend know they can wait at the door or in the waiting room area.

10. Your cash payments is paid before the tattoo!
Most shops do not take bank cards, checks or credit cards.
Beehive Tattoos will not take anything but CASH!

11. Bring your ADULT ID or Foreign ID ! The inspectors need to verify you are not a minor.
Minors must have 2 forms of ID and one needs to have a picture on it.
Only State issued ID's a library card will not work.
Combinations include:
1. S.S. card (if names are same), Permit or Drivers License.
2. Birth Certificate (Required if last names are not the same) Permit or Drivers License.

The law is clear only one legal guardian or attending parent need to sign.
